Shelby Carr is the author of The Queen of Denver: Louise Sneed Hill and the Emergence of Modern High Society (History Press, 2020). She specializes in Gilded Age history. Specifically, she has concentrated heavily on the women of middle class and elite society in that period. Her research interests include the themes of culture, class, and consumption. She graduated from the University of Colorado with her Master of Arts in American history with a minor in public history and a certificate in historic preservation with high distinction.
