Stephen Schell grew up in New Jersey, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. He graduated from Shippensburg University in 1969, moved to Colorado, and taught History and Humanities at Poudre High School in Fort Collins and Humanities at Regis University in Denver before retiring in 1999. He received a master's degree (History) from Colorado State University. He lives in Fort Collins with his wife Susan and enjoys subjects ranging from Zen Philosophy and art to Quantum Physics. His hobbies include reading, writing, photography, hiking, kayaking, conditioning, and cello.
