Gray, Gary

Gary is a Nature, Wildlife and Landscape Photographer based in Colorado.

A Master Photographer and Master Print Maker, Gary has a long and established professional background in Digital and Film Imaging systems.

His involvement with photography began at the age of 12 when his father introduced him to his 35mm Voigtländer Vito III Rangefinder camera, which he still owns to this day. Gary has since been involved with photography at either an amateur or professional level and has over 45 years of experience with photography.

His career with The Wall Street Journal introduced him to graphic arts and digital imaging on a large scale professional level, working at an technical level with digital drum film scanners and flatbed laser image scanners for reproduction of the newspaper in the pre-press department. He also worked heavily at the engineering level with 1:1 large format film cameras used in the graphic arts department.

By the end of a 26 year career with "The Journal" Gary had worked with just about every imaging technology used in newspapers for graphic arts reproductions systems, offset printing presses, high resolution laser imaging and digital printing systems.

Gary retired from The Wall Street Journal in early 2007 and founded a private photography business, Gray Photography LLC. His base of operations is Littleton, Colorado and Red Feather Lakes, Colorado.

Gary makes and sells fine art photographic prints, does occasional private photography events and spends most of his time exploring the outdoor scenes and wildlife that Colorado and the United States have to offer. He is also available as a private photography instructor and hosts photography workshops and photo tours.
