Wright earned a bachelor’s degree in history (2013) from Carroll College in Helena, Montana, and completed a master’s degree in history (2016) at Colorado State University. While at CSU, he wrote a master's thesis titled, "Accelerating Waters: An Anthropocene History of Colorado's 1976 Big Thompson Flood." Wright is currently a PhD student at Montana State University, specializing in environmental history.
